Black wins again in Strathroy
Well the boys started their season with a win in Strathroy and showed Wednesday night that they still like playing there. They got their 3rd win in 3 trips this season notching a 12-2 win. The game seemed closer than the score would suggest. Strathroy Blue hit some good hard balls tonight. Some made their way to the outfield but the biys hustked to get them in and minimize the damage. Others were stopped by some great fielding by the boys. A couple plays of note were made by Anthony. 1 in the first inning ona hard hit ground ball that he got in front of and took it off the chest or shoulder but kepyt it in front of him and made the out at 2nd.
Another was in the middle innings where him and Caleb ere going for a pop up and collided; but Anthony kept his eye on the ball and caught it with his bare hand. Great job!! The hitting wasn't quite up to our standard at some points; others we hit the ball hard but right at the other team. As I explained to the boys in the post game chat; thats baseball. Sometimes the ball finds the holes; other times it doesn't. And we also had a good talk about making mistakes. WE ALL DO!! Not one of the boys said they hadn't made a mistake before. The key is to learn from them, move past them, and get ready for the next opportunity. Its only a game and as long as you keep trying you will never disappoint
