Champions!!!!
Mission Accomplished!!  After a great regular season which saw the Black team only lose 2 games and finishing 1st place; the Cougars won both games in the Tournament to finish the season off in style!!  The boys flexed their muscles and gloves in the "semi final" vs Strathroy Black.  The final score was 28-7.  Then in the final the boys matched up against the 2nd place team in the league from DKMB Red.  In what was a classic baseball game the Cougar boys came out in top 4-3.  Both teams played EXCELLANT defence making the score after 3.5 innings 1-1 Camlachie.

Cougars run was scored by Griffen Bunda.  After Griffen got on base with a hit.  Caleb  Abrams and Cameron Davidson moved him over to 3rd with hits and then Braxton Sommise drove him home.  DKMB tied it up in the top of the 4th but the Cougar bats came alive in the bottom of the inning.  They put up 3 runs and went ahead 4-1.   Once again hitting and scoring was provided by Davidson, Abrams and Sommise but this time key hits were made by Adam Larocque and Wesley Barrett.  Top of the 5th the boys gloves got hot.  One out was made by Wesley on a ground ball throw out at 3rd.  On another out Caleb fielded the ball from the pitchers spot and threw it home.  The throw was a bit high but Griffen in all catchers gear made a leaping catch and landed back on home plate for the force out with the bases loaded.  Griffen was at if for the final out of the game when Caleb once again fielded a high chopper and threw it to Griffen at home for the 3rd and final out.  I hope my story telling is a s exciting as the game was.

Great season by everyone!!  Big thanks to all the parents for your commitment and the snacks!!!  Big thanks to the coaches (and Emily and Brody) for all the help this year!  Like I said after the game; it takes a Village.  And most importantly thank you to the boys!  Your commitment and hard work paid off.  You have no one to thank but yourselves.  Each one of you supported each other, backed each other up and helped each other get better.  I couldn't have been more proud or had more fun with a group than this year.  We'll see you around!!!  Cory
